In my family, we have two very different opinions regarding the holidays. Some believe that absolutely no Christmas decorating can take place until the day after Thanksgiving. Others (me!) bring out the Christmas bling the day after Halloween. There are a number of reasons for both approaches. In my case, I do a lot of baking early in the season. I like to mail these goodies so that they can help kick off the season and, in many cases, they are anticipated treats for tree-trimming parties.
What all of this means in these first days of November is that, while I am still eating Halloween candy, my Santa hat is firmly in place! And such is also the metaphorical case for this week's hot list*. It features a variety of fall festivities with a bit of Christmas making an appearance, and I think it's the perfect way to start off the month. Let's get to it!
#2: Für Gabi by Heather Bruce Sosa (This cookie set isn't just cute, it's also a beautiful reminder of how Cookie Connection keeps us connected! @Heather Bruce Sosa and @Icingsugarkeks share a birthday and gave each other a virtual cookie exchange on this site in celebration. It's so much fun to be included in the party!)
#5: Birthday Wishes for Heather by Icingsugarkeks (Here we have the other half of the birthday salute between these two devoted friends. Best wishes all around!)
#8: Mixed Media Bat by Donna Sullivan (The abundance of mixed media on this cookie results in so much texture! Congratulations, @Donna Sullivan, for having your first post featured in this Spotlight! What an accomplishment!)
#9: Mr. & Mr. Engagement Set by Cajun Home Sweets (The incredibly talented @Cajun Home Sweets completely captured the beauty of a fall engagement. From the woodgrain and textured leaves to the color palette and rustic backdrop, this set shouts "autumn" loud and clear!)
How's that for a celebration of fall with a transition to Christmas? I think we nailed it!
I can't wait to see what you post next! I hope everyone has a safe and happy week.

She spent more than a decade at various soup kitchens, homeless shelters, and prison reentry programs throughout New York City. Lisa’s cookie journey began in 2011 when she started making gingerbread houses. After getting a handle on construction, she focused on improving her decorating skills through books, videos, and online tutorials. This exploration brought her to Cookie Connection, which has provided her with an incredible community to learn from and grow with. Though she enjoys making cookies for family and friends, Lisa’s main focus is cookies for charity.
