Wowza! Now if that cover art didn't get your attention, I'm not sure what would! The colors just POP off the page, don't they?! I chose @Di Art Sweets's photo for this special highlight because it underscores one of the things I love most about our cookie community - and that's diversity! Just when you thought soft pink and red lacy valentines were it . . . BOOM! . . . along comes this untraditional, very modern take on Valentine's Day, which makes use of turquoise no less!
With everything from a lovable rhino to silly snails, this week's hot list* is also a tribute to your wonderful diversity! Even the three featured challenge photos are strikingly different, despite the challenge requirement that entries be all one color.
So, without further ado, here are this week's honorees! Congrats to all!
(Also, a heads up: I will be out of the country next weekend on a teaching trip and unable to work on the site, so Saturday Spotlights will resume on February 16. "See" you then!)
#1: Winter White by Fernwood Cookie [EDITOR'S NOTE: The first of our featured Practice Bakes Perfect Challenge #32 entries! Psssst . . . the challenge is open 'til February 17, so there's still plenty of time to join the fun!]
#2: Terracotta Pottery Artifacts by PUDING FARM [EDITOR'S NOTE: Featured challenge entry #2!]
#3: Snow Rabbit Valentine by swissophie [EDITOR'S NOTE: And . . . featured challenge entry #3!]
#4: Bee Mine by Teri Pringle Wood [EDITOR'S NOTE: After a brief absence from the site, Teri returned this week in full force with four - yes, FOUR - spotlighted entries! You'll see the rest of her charming bunch below.]
#5: Valentine Fun by Teri Pringle Wood
#6: Love is Born in Nature! by DI ART

#8: Keepsake Valentine Card by Teri Pringle Wood
#9: Rhino by Liesbet
#10: White Mandala Cookie by ANNA SWEET DESIGN
This week's hot list is certainly rich with many technical lessons to be learned, but perhaps it's bigger message is this: always be fearless about expressing your true you!
I look forward to seeing more of your uniquely individual creations when I return here on February 16. Have a great week in the meantime!
So that no one has an unfair advantage in making it onto a hot list, the algorithm is secret even to site administrators. Only our platform developers know the code, which has been exhaustively tested by those developers and Cookie Connection staff.
