My 2020 house was comprised of Christmas cookies I had left over after the "big day" came and went. Much as with my life, I use what I have and try to make the most of everything I have and every opportunity. I had wanted to make a gift for a friend (a special cookie set) and had wanted to make one more addition to this PBP challange, so I grabbed what was on hand and made this house. I love the outgoing mail, sending notes of wisdom into the new year and the cheery snowman, greeting a winter welcome. Come up the steps holding the railing, supported by angel hair spaghettis, the fondant steps will welcome you into the warm cheery heart inside. My pine trees were made with fondant. The one on the left entirely, and the one on the right has a pretzel base (left over from my chocolate covered pretzel gifts given this year. I hand painted the widows with Americolor gels (water color style), added sprinkles for eyes and a carrot of fondant adorns my snowman's nose. RI made the spaghettis turn into a stick for arms and hands. the scalloped edges of my leftover plaque cookies reminded me of the Swiss Alps I visited last year, so I removed the edges and RI glued them in place for the roof (wasting nothing) I used the inside of the cookies for the sides of the two Church cookies. I do hope you enjoy my entry and that you will use the most of every ingredient, and opportunity 2020 has left for you. xoxo ~Kim

I absolutely love the meaning behind this entry! We should always make the most of what we have (whether with ingredients or opportunities), and, oftentimes as you have shown, we already have the things that we need. The scallop-edge roof is architecturally stunning, and the scalloped bases add the perfect balance to this design element. (Using leftover plaque cookies was a really clever idea.) I also like how you have used spaghetti, something non-conventional, for the snowman's arms and for the railing. The color and texture of your pretzel sticks makes them look surprisingly like real tree bark. The fondant tree is probably my favorite thing, but I also love the red door. And the snowman and the mailbox bring life and joy to your fantastic entry.

Awe, thanks so much! And happy new year!

What a great entry for the challenge Kim @Kim Damon! The trees are really unique and look very realistic. Entirely made out of fondant? That was likely quite a bit of work right there. The mailbox and snowman are really fun additions. They do indeed welcome people into your lovely home. Great work!! ❤️❤️❤️ Hugs...
