Crochet

I am not good at

  Piping, especially round

  Making same things  (I get bored easily)

Which is to say, this is really a challenge to me.

For this challenge, I make many circles (extra points!!) and make same designed cookies.  I use some different stiff icing and ways of making circles to find what are suitable to me.

How I made circles

To make a circled base, I use a cut-round paper and a scribble tool.   Then pipe as indicated.

I start from 11 o’clock then pipe anticlockwise.  This was easy for me to make a big circle.

I flood the cookie, and then wait until it completely dry.  I place the cut-round paper back to find the center of the circle for compasses.  Blue arrowed parts (blue circle) are made with ruler below.

The above small circles are made anticlockwise movement but I did not feel comfortable.  To make small circles, clockwise movement is easy for me.

 The design of my cookies is based on what I crocheted.

This is from a different angle of my cookies.

Those are all of the methods that I tried!!!!...and gave up on  Your beautiful circles are perfectly complimented by that wonderful crochet work!  And I just love the color! ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you, Christine, @Sweet Prodigy Still piping is nightmare to me   Now I think I should have attached my piping bag to the compass, held the compass still but turned the cookie!  New way.

Isn't that the nice color, Zara @carouselselsel,  I actually crochet with this green color.  Naturally I chose this color for my cookie, too.

These are amazing, Ryoko! They look every bit like real crochet! Your flooded circles are quite good, and I think you have probably discovered the best way to do them for you. I think you would feel more comfortable with flooding circles over time, as you do more and more of them, so keep at it! This is a fabulous addition to the challenge!

I have also tried this same approach to piping the "perfect" circle onto a round cookie. I've gone through all of the measurements as you did and must admit that it's easy for me to lose patience doing the same thing over and over again. I, too, like some variety. I absolutely love the crocheted effect. It's gorgeous and so detailed. Looks just like crocheting to me . Hugs...

Hi Sonja there!   I still do not like piping and piping is boring to me, I just start thinking something else and piping starts dancing but I am getting better.
