Wow, we've got some interesting cookie art for you this month (finally, it's not my own!). Our May featured cookies weren't just handmade, covered with edible images, and photographed, they were also digitally altered to look super cool and very fitting, especially colorwise, with this site. Their heart motif also makes the perfect tie-in to Mother's Day, which is later this month here in the US.
So what am I talking about?! Take a look, people!
So cool, right?!
And who do we have to thank for this beauty this month? It's none other than @Icingsugarkeks, aka Gabi, who you'll regularly spot on the site, participating in challenges, posting her richly textured cookies, and cheerfully encouraging other members along. As always, I've asked Gabi to do an in-depth Cookier Close-up interview with me (one of the perks of being a featured site artist), which should post later in May. Until then, please check out her bio and other social media links below.
Icingsugarkeks, designedbygabi, and Gabi are all synonyms behind which a now very withdrawn person is hiding. (Sorry, no headshot! )
Even in her earliest childhood, Gabi showed respect for others, learning from her wonderful parents who exemplified mutual caring and support. Gabi’s husband, two sons, and parents are her greatest pride and source of encouragement! Having grown up in nature, Gabi developed a great love for animals and plants. She also enjoys many hobbies, including drawing, baking, DIY, photography, and computer work. As Icingsugarkeks, she taught herself how to design 3-D cookie cutters on the PC, and she now quickly designs everything she needs for cookies all by herself. (It is really not that difficult, she says!)
In her job as a media and graphic designer, Gabi is involved in image processing, film cutting, television programming, various print media, and the design and programming of websites. Gabi never thought that she would love HTML and CSS one day! But she does! All of her websites are very playfully built on it.
Gabi got to know Pinterest and Instagram during a long hospital stay and found there the first pictures from Julia’s Cookie Connection! In that moment, the love of baking and decorating cookies became an addiction. Gabi is amazed at how many like-minded people there are! And what awesome talents! At home in Germany, in the green heart of Thüringen, Gabi (ahem, Icingsugarkeks) now feels like a happy member of this unique, creative, and spectacular website and community!

Interested in seeing your name in lights and having your cookies featured on Cookie Connection?! I thought so! I would love to see your cookie art here too! I am COMPLETELY OUT OF SITE ART from now until eternity, so please consider contributing as early as NOW, for posting in June 2020!
It's easy to submit! Just read these posts here and here. Remember: Site artists not only get their work featured prominently for a full month, but they also get profiled in a forum post (like this one) and in an in-depth Cookier Close-up interview. All considered, it's a lot of great free PR in exchange for photo sharing!
Thanks in advance for considering a contribution to the site!
