This project came out nothing like I had planned. By that, I mean, it is not the intended shape, pattern, purpose or style! It is, however, an example of perseverance. I wonโt go into details about all that went wrong (it was a lot!) but I was determined to make something work. Rather than the intended Valentineโs Day tablescape, itโs more St. Patrickโs Day or an early ode to spring. Everything is edible except for the candles. I used one of Juliaโs stencils for the front and back (both sides are the same).
I made a number of extra hemispheres. They were originally going to be dishes for candy hearts but turned out to work well as small candle holders.
WOW!!! Lisa, these are gorgeous @LisaF. The heart shape (right side up and upside down) is so clever. I love how it all came together so beautifully.Yes! I saw Julia's stencil that you used and it's perfect for this application. It's one of my favorite stencils of her collection (that keeps getting bigger all the time ).
All your roses look awesome! It looks like you've got a little more interest in 3D cookie art...you're really great at it and I hope you keep making these wonderful projects when you have the time (they are definitely time consuming as you mentioned in your comment). I often find that 3D work turns out to be more of a labor of love rather than anything that would be a "money maker". At least not for me!!! โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ Hugs...

Wow! It's really hard to see what went wrong here; these projects look super and very cleanly crafted. I really like the lavish fill of flowers from the side - very clever!

Thank you so much for all of your nice remarks. This stencil is on of my favorite too๐. I do get considerable enjoyment from 3D projects and yes, they are all just labors of love. Fortunately, my husband is a very appreciative audience. Though, I could do with fewer questions of โcan I eat it now?โ From him!๐๐๐

Thank you so much Julia. The lavish flowers were not at all part of the original design. I wish I had taken more process photos because my sides were very clean. I used Manuโs @Manu biscotti decorati genius trick of baking on a rolled mat and my connection seams were minimal and tight. I loved the look of your stencil so much, however, that it basically transformed (and saved) the project. It definitely made me lean into the floral aspect!

I'm cracking up Lisa @LisaF...my hubby does the same thing . I purposefully make extras so that he doesn't feel badly about eating a cookie that was intended for an order...I've gotten to where it's not even remotely enticing for me to eat anymore sugar cookies LOL. I like to make different flavors but my clients always, always, always want vanilla. Go figure. Right?
You deserve every word I said my dear...you work so hard and I think we're very much alike in that we want to continue to learn as much as we can.
As much as I love decorating cookies I sometimes feel like I've hit kind of a "plateau" and am not getting any better. That part is frustrating and I'm so very hard on myself. I see the flaws, not any improvement. I love watching other cookiers grow in our craft โค๏ธ. I've watched your work for a very long time and admire how much you challenge yourself and how much you keep growing in your skills. You're a delightful friend โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ Hugs... (lots and lots of them)

You ARE too hard on yourself! Weโve talked about this Carol!! My husband will be delighted to know that yours is a kindred spirit. Though, in truth, I find it hard to believe that any spouses of cookiers ever suffer!๐โค๏ธ๐
WOW Lisa!!! I canโt find more words to describe how impressed I am with your incredible piece of art! I think Carol has, once again, worded it in an excellent way. And yes, I must also agree that our hubbyโs support and capacity to being available to trying left overs -and more- are a delightโฅ๏ธ

Thank you so much for your kindness Heather. I feel so lucky to have wonderful people like you to share my cookie journey with. ๐๐โค๏ธ
Thank you so much Christine. I miss you! I hope you and your family are well๐โค๏ธ
We are all well, thank you. ๐ I've been really busy with not a lot of time left for myself. But things should be quieter now...hopefully. ๐ฌ๐โค๏ธ
