What Does Your Cookie Decorating Space Look Like?

My space is FAR too messy to show you in full right now, so I'm just going to share some tidbits. (I usually work in a small kitchen that I have set up in my basement, with old equipment that I brought with me when I closed my bakery. It gets overrun with projects from time to time - like now - but at least it's out of plain view.)

I have a fascination for old signage and salvage/repurposing of any kind, which I think you'll see in some of my decor in this space. Photos below, with more explanations in the attached photo captions.

Oooh, Cookieria, I love all of your copper molds. And you are SO ORGANIZED. I am SO ENVIOUS!! After my next series of video shoots (Tuesday and Wednesday of this coming week), I am allotting a week or more just to cleaning/organizing my kitchen. I can hardly function in it any longer.

Cookieria, I am so envious of your organized, productive,beautifully equipped baking heaven, Bravo.

I like this topic, I guess because I also enjoy getting a glimpse inside people's homes specifically the kitchen area...and its great to see how people organize/store stuff.  I wish I had a separate cookie decorating area but I don't so my round kitchen table usually is covered with stuff when I have to decorate and its nothing exciting to look at but I will show you how I'm currently storing all my baking items.  

I have to say, until 2 minutes ago I was under the impression my baking space was organized ... BUT, Cookieria, you've inspired me!  

My problem is, when I'm busy with consecutive orders, I may be guilty of not quite putting things back where they should GO ... because ... I'm just going to need it again ... soon ... eventually!  

Oh! I am sure we are all alike... hate to put things away because we know we will need them again!!! Me too! There is always a  messy corner on my desk and even in my living room!! lol!!! Husband and kids are used to it by now...

I'm so organized. I can do all my cookies here, in a small oven. Can you believe ? Look at my kitchen ! I live in a ap, in São Paulo, Brasil.

Oh Fun! I took an 8 X 6 room that our old heater occupied for 50 years. Here are pictures below as we fixed it up exclusively for Jinnee's Cookie Supplies ~ That's Me . It isn't my decorating space though. I decorate cookies at our island in the middle of our kitchen. I have a huge window and I can see company coming a mile down the road. I live on a dirt road on a farm. I love it. I'm so blessed.

I love seeing everyone's creative spaces!  Here's where I get my cookie on:

I don't have much space.  We moved to the coast a few years ago and bought a little 2-bedroom condo...who knew I'd become a cookier/hoarder???  When we purchased a new television that is about 5 feet long, I confiscated the old television armoire for my cookie things.  It still isn't big enough (I have other baking supplies in other areas)...but most of my cookie stuff is in the armoire.  Best part...I can close the door and it is all hidden.  I used to have things stacked against the wall in our dining area!  My tips and bags are all in a Wilton Tool Box on top of the refrigerator in the kitchen.  It is also filled to overflowing

Oh! I see you have lots of stamps! Do you use them a lot on your cookies? And i love your armoire organization! 

Margaret - my stamping so far has been pathetic.  I hit a 50% off sale at Michael's and loaded up on stamps I thought would work well on cookies.  They look perfect when I stamp on a piece of paper...but on the cookie I have trouble getting the entire surface stamped.  I have some "old" cookies I am practicing on.  I also am considering buying wafer paper and stamping it, then transferring.  I always THOUGHT my cookies were fairly flat after icing...but I'm finding there are little dips (and you can't stamp a dip!).  When I have one finished, I'll certainly post it!!!

Seriously? I am amazed at all your cookie decorating treasures. WOW is all I can say. 

I have 1 small drawer with 10 colors, about 20 cutters( a few sent to be by a parishioner from my sister's church in Long Branch), a few paint brushes from my kids color box( the kids are over 20 years old now), a box of tips I haven't opened which was gifted to me last week , 4 molds, 6 plastic mats, a 5 euros tool set, a small knife, box of tooth picks and a jar of candy pearls. And every time I say I want something someone says, "Where do you plan on taking this hobby of yours?" In other words why am I spending good money on something that will take me nowhere.

So ladies I am overwhelmed with you beautiful, well stocked and well organized ,clean spaces.

Tina, Your hobby is YOURS! Your hobby takes you to the Land of Enjoyment! It's your pleasure and you use it to give pleasure to others. Make that your stock answer. 

It took me 18 years to get what I have. I've had that room and pulled it all together a year ago. Little by little. Just keep doing what you are doing. Hang in there and soak up the pleasure because many don't know how to be content.

I am probably one of, if not, the oldest here, and I have learnt to be content with very little as long as the people I love are well and healthy.

This is the most soothing creative thing I have done along with my bouquets so I don't care what other's think at this point in my life.

And I am leaving for the States next week so I imagine I will fill in with a thing or twenty!!!!!

I just enjoy having the tools when I want to work on my "hobby".  I like trying new things...and if I go nowhere with it, it's okay.  It makes me happy.  I, too, am no young thing.  Some of the cookie cutters I have were my moms, or ones I bought over the past 30-something years of baking.  I find LOTS of stuff on sale (75-80% off and I can barely resist!), I won 20 cookie cutters in a give-away, I taught a beginner decorating class and had to have a ton of supplies for the class (it broke even and I had fun, so that was good)...and my kids give me things from my rather lengthy Amazon Wish List for Christmas and Birthdays.  There's not much I want for...beyond good books, good music, and cookie-ing equipment!  Life has been good to me.

I am, admittedly, an incredibly messy and unorganized person. Lol. Here is BW HQ.
