Celebrate Summer by Cukrowane Kruche
I loved seeing so many summer sets for this challenge, and this one by Cukrowane Kruche is exemplary. We are quite impressed with how she added details to fill out the entirety of each shape - such as the hands around the ice cream cone, and sand tools in the buckets. I am personally in love with that little sand castle, and the sparing, but brilliant, use of texture there.
Jungle Babies by Delorse
Tornado by The Anxious Baker
Venice with Love by Mariela
Neon Sign Cookies by magu
I am not sure if anyone has ever done this technique before, but we are wowed by the neon effect achieved in this entry by magu. The neon is a great unifying theme, and really masks the true (Christmas) identity of those cookie cutters.
Fish Extravaganza by Cookie Celebration
Under the Sea by Laegwen
There were so many beautiful sea-themed entries in this contest! It was truly painful to try to pick and choose which ones to spotlight, but this one by Laegwen is a stand-out. I invite you all to click on and view the detailed image of this photo, so you can appreciate the depth of the colors and the detail of the ocean-y backgrounds. No detail is overlooked. Simply gorgeous.
That's all for Practice Bakes Perfect Challenge #11. It's all about the journey, so thanks for coming along for the ride (hopefully there weren't too many "white knuckles" this time)! Stay tuned for the next challenge, which will post on or about August 31, 2015.
Christine Donnelly began her professional baking career at 16, when she was hired on the spot at her local bakery to work the counter and decorate cakes. After detours to college and law school, she worked as a trial lawyer in Chicago for many years, ultimately leaving that career to become a stay-at-home mother to her two children. In her “retirement,” she continued to bake at home, at last finding her preferred artistic medium in decorated cookies. In February 2013, Bakerloo Station was born with a presence on both Facebook and Instagram. Christine makes cookies to balance her left brain, to inspire and share creative ideas, and to feed those needs that only art can satisfy.
