Lisa had this post in the hopper by last Friday, but I spent the weekend teaching at and watching The Bake Fest, so I am just now getting caught up! In my neck of the woods, spring has sprung. The gardens are an avalanche of color and texture. Not only are the flower beds overflowing, but so are the calendars. There is an abundance of weddings, graduations, commemorative holidays, and birthdays. Plenty of reasons to bake, decorate, and celebrate! This week's hot list* is a delicious reflection of all that we're juggling.

#5: Breakfast for Mom (Sri Lankan Style) by Zeena (This Mother's Day tribute is filled with all sorts of Sri Lankan delights. Thanks for providing all of the backstory, @Zeena.)
#6: Pro Maminku (aka For Mommy) by Dita (This handpainted heart is another Mother's Day tribute that is trending well past that celebration. It's also @Dita's second appearance this week. Congratulations!)
#7: Srdíčko na Památku (aka A Heart as a Keepsake) by Dita (Another one of @Dita's gorgeous hearts! This post is also her third trending cookie this week! Great work, Dita!)
#8: Photo Frame Cookie by Zeena (Yet another Mother's Day cookie - there can never be too many! It's also @Zeena's second appearance in this week's Spotlight! Terrific work, @Zeena!)
#9: Fit, 50, Fabulous! by Cookies Fantastique (Such a fun and fabulous set for a milestone birthday. Well done, @Cookies Fantastique.)

Just like many of our gardens, this week's Saturday Spotlight is overflowing with beauty and inspiration. I'm looking forward to seeing what pops up in the weeks to come. Have a wonderful week!

Lisa Foss is a hobbyist cookie decorator. After careers in corporate communications and freelance writing, she spent more than a decade at various soup kitchens, homeless shelters, and prison reentry programs throughout New York City. Lisa’s cookie journey began in 2011 when she started making gingerbread houses. After getting a handle on construction, she focused on improving her decorating skills through books, videos, and online tutorials.
