At my house, we've had so much fun these past few months. It has been the first stretch since the pandemic that a season has felt completely familiar. Now . . . summer is wrapping up. (Heavy theatrical sigh!) I'll be the first to make fun of my melodramatic assessment because fall gives us so much to celebrate. And I am definitely all in!
This week's hot list* is in sync with the collections we've had over the past couple of weeks. The photos in it span a range of original post dates and all sorts of themes. If there's one way to sum them up, it's hippos, hippies, and ho-ho-ho!
And away we go!
#3: Hippies Párty (aka Hippie Party) by Dita (This set is continuing to spread good vibes by also appearing in our Spotlight for a second week in a row. Great job, @Dita!)
#4: A Fun Windmill Project by Cookies Fantastique (@Cookies Fantastique has provided a number of photos and instructions for how she created this fun project, so check out her original post under the first pink link above. Many thanks, Carol!)
#5: Hi, Baby! by Ryoko ~Cookie Ave. (@Ryoko ~Cookie Ave. has also provided additional detail on how she created this super cute set. Again, to see her remarks, just click on the first pink link above, and then scroll down to the comments under her post.)
#6: 1, 2 , 3 . . . 25 December! by Di Art Sweets (This set from last year is currently making a reappearance. A bit of Christmas in September never hurts! Each cookie is an inspiration in itself. Wonderful work, @Di Art Sweets!)
#10: Surfin' Safari by kns93 (This groovy set was also featured last week and is still hanging ten - which is one of the reasons Julia and I decided to feature it as the cover image this time! It's also says so long to summer so colorfully! Awesome job, @kns93!)
How's that for variety?! It's definitely helping me wrap up the summer with only good vibes!
I hope you have a safe and happy week ahead!
Until next time . . .
So that no one has an unfair advantage in making it onto a hot list, the algorithm is secret even to site administrators. Only our platform developers know the code, which has been exhaustively tested by those developers and Cookie Connection staff.

Lisa Foss is a hobbyist cookie decorator. After careers in corporate communications and freelance writing, she focused her attention on the nonprofit sector. She spent more than a decade at various soup kitchens, homeless shelters, and prison reentry programs throughout New York City. Lisa’s cookie journey began in 2011 when she started making gingerbread houses. After getting a handle on construction, she focused on improving her decorating skills through books, videos, and online tutorials. This exploration brought her to Cookie Connection, which has provided her with an incredible community to learn from and grow with. Though she enjoys making cookies for family and friends, Lisa’s main focus is cookies for charity.
