What a week it has been! There was a Flower Moon, Cinco de Mayo, and the coronation. Not to mention birthdays, graduations, and nuptials. And absolutely let's not forget preparations for Mother's Day (there is still time to make something fabulous!). Needless to say, spring is here in all of its sugar and spice and everything nice.
This week's hot list* is very symbolic of the season. We have new additions and worthy repeats. We also have special occasions, cultural salutes, and all sorts of celebrations.
#1: Coronation Set by Dani Matos (Plenty of pomp and circumstance in this royal set. As @Dani Matos intended, it makes for a very glamorous afternoon tea! Plus, it earned the coveted cover spot for being so darn topical this week!)
#2: Spring Garden by Heather Bruce Sosa (This sweet set by @Heather Bruce Sosa is a perfect ode to spring.)
#3: Kabuto (Japanese Warrior Helmet) by Miwa (This striking creation marks a Saturday Spotlight debut for @Miwa. Congratulations!)
#4: Home on the Range by kns93 (Such a fun set by @kns93. The cows are pure delight.)
#5: Plaque Designs for a First Birthday by Little-Fancies (Though originally posted a few years ago, @Little-Fancies's set continues to trend . . . with good reason! It is absolutely stunning!)
#6: Wedding Cookies by Nicky Lamprinou (Another post from several years ago that continues to trend. @Nicky Lamprinou did some impressive freehand designing on these beauties.)
#7: Project Cookie "Puzzle" by Cookies Fantastique (This creative set is making a repeat appearance in our Saturday Spotlight. Congratulations, @Cookies Fantastique!)
#8: Toy Story Birthday by Crafty Enginerd (What I like most about these cuties is that they are clearly inspired by Toy Story but do not overstep into copyright infringement. Well done, @Crafty Enginerd.)
#9: Painted Flower Jar by Zeena (In addition to creating several cookies for the last Cookie Connection challenge, @Zeena has continued to be inspired by @Laura Saporiti's watercolor veiling technique, which she used on this cookie. In case you missed Laura in that challenge, here's the Watch-Learn-Create Challenge #53 recap.)
#10: Gingerbread House - Small Mushroom Cottage with Mini Glass (Isomalt) Roses by iSugarfy (aka swissophie) (This 3-D cookie is an oldie but a goodie. Originally posted six (!) years ago, it continues to trend. @iSugarfy (aka swissophie) created a house of springtime delight that fit into the palm of her hand!)
There you have it. This week's Saturday Spotlight is a salute to spring and all that it brings! I hope this week provides everyone with plenty of opportunities to enjoy the season!
So that no one has an unfair advantage in making it onto a hot list, the algorithm is secret even to site administrators. Only our platform developers know the code, which has been exhaustively tested by those developers and Cookie Connection staff.
