Saturday Spotlight: Top 10 Cookies

This first week of spring has been a bit all over the place for me and my neighborhood. The temperatures have been well above normal one day, then plunging well below on the next. On the warmer days, I can literally see buds form and blossoms open. When the cold rushes in, everything closes up tight as if a false alarm sounded, and the glory of the day before was merely an illusion. All of this back-and-forth weather has been both a frustrating tease and a good reminder of the delightful days ahead. And it has left me with an incredible case of spring fever!

Fortunately, this week's hot list* is the perfect antidote. It is filled with beautiful colors, seasonal celebrations, and all sorts of springtime deliciousness. Let's take a look, shall we?

#1: Beautiful White by Yazz Ross (This majestic monochrome set is the latest Challenge #56 entry to be spotlighted. Beautiful indeed, @Yazz Ross! And, everyone else, don't forget: you've got just two days left to enter the challenge and to get @mintlemonade (cookie crumbs)'s amazing kickoff video for a mere $5. Also remember, you can get this discounted video price even without entering the challenge. Such a small price to pay to ensure that your ruffle borders are the very best! )

#2: Savanna Animals by carouselselsel (Originally posted in 2017, these cuties are trending once again. Grrrrrreat job, @carouselselsel! )

#3: Easter Egg Cookies 2016 by Manu biscotti decorati (Another older post that is trending once again. And with good reason - @Manu biscotti decorati's Easter eggs are absolute works of art!)

#4: Cookie Stamps by Gloriabakes (This set is so stunning that Julia and I decided to feature it as this week's cover art. I also hear that double-congratulations are in order, as I believe this set placed in the recent Sweet Art Master Show competition in New York! So . . . congrats x 2, @Gloriabakes!)

#5: Easter Platter by Lola Willard (The perfect puffy, shiny icing on these darlings really helps them stand out.)

#6: Cookie Pops! by Donna Allen (I love the colors that @Donna Allen selected here. The pastels work beautifully, particularly with the subject matter.)

#7: Magical Garden Fairy by April Berry (Be sure to check out the comments in @April Berry's post for details on this magical creation, including a link to the tutorial. Though please note that you'll need to purchase a Cookie-A-Thon All-Access Pass to see it, along with the 50-plus other tutorials that debuted at Cookie-A-Thon last week. However, the price is a pittance - just a few dollars per fabulous tutorial.)

#8: Pink and Rose Baby Set by Cajun Home Sweets (Another soft color palette that works beautifully. And let's not overlook the incredible piping skills that @Cajun Home Sweets brings to every single one of her sets. What a treat to behold!)

#9: Zoo Animals by Treatfairy (This delightful set really makes me smile. I especially appreciate the springtime flair that @Treatfairy has given to each animal!)
#9 - Zoo Animals by Treatfairy

#10: Easter Carrots by Lola Willard (These creative carrots are @Lola Willard's second appearance in this week's Spotlight. Even more impressive is that this week is Lola's second in a row with two Spotlight appearances! That's four spotlighted posts in two weeks by this brand-new member! Brava!)

How was that for a taste of early spring? It certainly hit all of the right notes for me and was an absolute delight to compile, filled as it is with such tremendous creativity!

I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable week ahead, and that you find plenty of things to celebrate!

* As a reminder, a word about how the rankings are determined: The rankings are not at all subjective. In fact, they are determined essentially by you, our members, and the activity (number of views, likes, and comments) you've bestowed on each photo. The site uses a top-secret algorithm that weighs these various factors to determine which photos are trending most quickly (i.e., are the "hottest") over specified periods of time. As such, the hot list at the time of this announcement may look a little different a few hours or a day from now as more photos are added to the site.

So that no one has an unfair advantage in making it onto a hot list, the algorithm is secret even to site administrators. Only our platform developers know the code, which has been exhaustively tested by those developers and Cookie Connection staff.

All photos shown here are the courtesy (and copyright) of the designers listed.

To check out our other hot lists, at any time of day, visit our Hot Spot, also found in the site's main navigation line.

@Gloriabakes, I wasn’t sure how to tag you on Facebook (got you tagged on Instagram though). If you can send me your Facebook handle, I will try re-tagging you there. Congrats again on a gorgeous cover image!

Thanks again for noticing my cookie decorating , I’ve fallen in love with seeing what I can come up with that’s unique and different and that’s what makes it so much fun , my poor husband of 28 years doesn’t know what to think , but he says that if your happy that’s all that matters , thank you so much 😊
