This week's Spotlight affirms that we're in yet another ambiguous cookie zone, where themes straddle different seasons, holidays, and occasions. Here, we've got cookies that reflect back on Mother's Day, and others that are already zooming forward to Father's Day in June. Likewise, we have a couple of forays into summer, including the lovely cover image by @mintlemonade (cookie crumbs), along with cookies like @LisaF's Memorial Day set that are clearly rooted in the here and now. Considering that our cookie community is about as diverse as diverse can be, it should come as no surprise that our cookies would be too! There's probably no greater testament to our different approaches to cookie art than @Econlady's wonderfully unexpected and whimsical "Llama Yoga" piece! Never in my life could I have dreamt that up!

But . . . before I reveal our top-trending cookies of the week, one brief PSA. As you may or may not know, @Sweet Prodigy is running a very fun Practice Bakes Perfect challenge this month all about imprinted icing. We’d love to see you start the next “concrete texture” trend! The randomly drawn prize is a $100 gift certificate to the fabulous @SugarVeil, whose mats, BTW, are the perfect tool for imprinting icing. I’ve used them on the cookies in the next two photos to create the lacy and floral textured royal icing transfers. I have molded cookies and modeling chocolate bows on these cookies too (which aren't the focus of the challenge), but the transfers may serve as food for thought as you start dreaming up your challenge entries . . . The challenge closes on June 20, so there is still plenty of time to enter. Check out the details and rules here, and give it a go! Never has learning been so fun as in Sweet Prodigy's challenges!
